Update on Charitable Grants

Following the announcement of the national lockdown in England, and continuing lockdowns and restrictions in Northern Ireland, Scotland and Wales, Motability, the Charity remains open.

Our phone lines are open and we are currently able to receive and work through applications for charitable grants, however, please note that Scheme Related Grants and Driving Lessons may be impacted by some restrictions currently in place across the UK. Your Case Manager will discuss how these restrictions might impact your application as it progresses. Our Stopped Allowance Support, Additional Transitional Support and Access to Work grant programmes are unaffected by restrictions at this time.

Driving Assessments

Ensuring that we have the necessary and appropriate measures in place for the safety of our beneficiaries and staff is one of our key priorities, therefore driving assessments can only be carried out in areas of the UK where Government guidelines and lockdown restrictions allow us to safely carry out this activity. Motability have undertaken full risk assessments in line with Government guidelines, and have paused all driving assessments across the UK at this time. If you have an assessment booked, you will be notified by a member of our team that it has been cancelled and we will re-arrange the visit as soon as national/local restrictions allow.

Our risk assessments are reviewed continuously, in line with changing Government guidelines and restrictions.

More information on the status of grants and driving assessments will be posted on this site when available.

This is an unprecedented and challenging time for us all and we are sorry for the inconvenience and delay that any impact caused by the national restrictions may cause some beneficiaries, however, we remain open to talk with beneficiaries and work on applications within the constraints of the national restrictions.
