Information for health professionals and advisors
We send information free of charge to healthcare professionals, for you to pass on to people who could join the Scheme.
The Motability Scheme enables disabled people to use their government-funded mobility allowance to lease a new car, scooter or powered wheelchair every three years, or a Wheelchair Accessible Vehicle (WAV) every five years.
The Motability Scheme is available to disabled people who receive either:
- The Higher Rate Mobility Component of Disability Living Allowance (HRMC DLA);
- The Enhanced Rate of the Mobility Component of Personal Independence Payment (ERMC PIP);
- The War Pensioners’ Mobility Supplement (WPMS); or
- The Armed Forces Independence Payment (AFIP).
